Saison season has arrived. On April 8th, Allagash Brewing Company and Thin Man Brewrery will be celebrating saisons. In homage to this style of beer’s multiplicity of different flavors, colors, and ingredients, Allagash is partnering with a selection of breweries, bars, and brewpubs that span the country. “Saison actually means ‘season’ in French, and refers to the fact that these beers were brewed seasonally, during winter,” said Jason Perkins, Brewmaster at Allagash. “As far as ingredients go, farmers used whatever they had on hand—barley, rye, spelt, or anything else. They then stored the beer to be drank during the hot summer months.” Thin Man Brewery will be the host to the Saison Day celebration at their 492 Elmwood Ave Location. They’ll be serving a wide variety of beers including Allagash Brewing Company, and (of course) their own beers. The celebration kicks off at 12:00 PM at 492 Elwood Ave. Also in attendance will be one of Allagash’s own brewers, there to enjoy beers and answer any beer questions attendants may have.

The celebration kicks off at 12:00 PM at 40 Collier Avenue. Also in attendance will be one of Allagash’s own brewers, there to enjoy beers and answer any beer questions attendants may have.

Storytellers Series: Allagash & Oxbow

Join us as we hear the stories of the masterminds between these two delicious breweries in the downstairs bar at Georgetown. The day-of event will include a guided tasting of 4-6 beers with the brewer/owner as well as some time for them to discuss their story. Hear about how they developed their brewery and created a name for themselves in craft beer as well as who inspires them and what beer they love! Join us for this series during CBC in DC!

Allagash Rare Bottle Tasting
