A tart, ruby-colored beer that’s aged on cherries. In the the flavor of Doles Ridge Road, you’ll find a solid cherry note, accompanied by mixed berry, pie spice, and some graham cracker in the finish.
We’re lucky to have a plethora of sights, hikes, adventures, and bites all within our state’s limits. And now that we at Allagash are canning, our beer is able to go places it never could before. To celebrate, we asked our staff where they were excited to bring a can of Allagash White or River Trip. We’ve compiled a highlight of their responses below. Our advice, pick an adventure and bring a couple cans for once you’re done.
Here at Allagash we have ideas for beers. Lots of ideas. Meaning, there’s a solid list of potential Allagash beers that nobody outside of Allagash has tasted. Not anymore. The Fifth Tap Series is here to bring more small-batch, innovative beers to Allagash fans.
The quality of our beer is beholden to the ingredients we make it from. Which is why we buy our ingredients locally whenever we can. And one ingredient that we love to buy local is fruit. It’s the best way to ensure sure that the strawberries, blueberries, peaches (or whatever else we decide to dump in our tanks) fill our beers with unmistakably fresh flavor.
More than ever in our brewery’s history, we’re using Maine-grown grains to make our beer. In 2017, we made the pledge to increase our usage of local grain—that year, we ended up using around 115,000 pounds. In 2018, we increased it to around 280,000 pounds. In 2019, we’re shooting to hit 600,000 pounds.
