We’re more than excited to announce that we earned significant accolades at the 2021 Great American Beer Festival (GABF). For the first time ever, we earned the honor of Brewery and Brewer of the Year in the 15,001 – 100,000 barrels per year category.

Beer styles are meant to give you an idea of what you’re going to experience, before you experience it. Think of it like a genre of movie, but for beer. In the same way that you know, generally, what to expect when you hear action movie, rom-com, or drama, beer enthusiasts know what to expect when they hear biére de garde, California common, or wee heavy.

At Allagash, we’re able to recycle or sidestream about 99.8% of our waste. That last .2% is something we’re trying to address with the Allagash Recycling Co-op that we launched in March of 2021. 

We’ve heard a lot of people ask what the difference is between various wheat beer styles, specifically: witbier, hefeweizen, and “American” wheat beer. While they may seem similar, there’s actually quite a bit of difference between these styles.
