Helena is modeled after a traditional Flemish-style sour red. In the first sip, aromas of apple and pear combine with hints of caramel. The beer finishes with clean tartness. Hopped with Hallertau, we ferment this beer with our house yeast strain in an oak foudre and finish with Lactobacillus and Pediococcus. Its subtle fruit notes and tartness make it an excellent base for many of our fruited beers. This time around we’re letting you savor it—pure and simple—all on its own. Enjoy.
