Dry-Hopped Pilsner with Kernza®
We’re honored to be one of 11 breweries chosen by the inspiring folks at Patagonia Provisions to brew a collaboration beer with a very special ingredient. Kernza® is a perennial grain with long roots that allow it to grow in more conditions while regenerating soil. We experimented with this grain by incorporating it in this small-batch, draft-only beer. The idea is to gain more understanding around how this grain can be used in the brewing process, and also to try to make as delicious a beer as possible while we’re at it.
Even better, in line with Patagonia’s 1% for the planet, 1% of sales of this beer will go to our friends at Cultivating Community.
Grains: Weyermann Bioland Pilsner Malt (Organic), Blue Ox Organic Pale Malt, Organic Kernza, Briess Organic Munich Malt
Hops: Organic Chinook, Organic Aroostook Cascade, Organic Centennial, Organic Chinook
Yeast: Belgian Lager Strain
Suggested Serving Size: 16oz Chalice
