Portland, Maine, has the been our home since we opened our doors in 1995. Over all that time, we’ve been consistently amazed by how welcoming and engaged our community really is. Seriously, we’re lucky.
Since the beginning, we’ve made an effort to emulate our community’s spirit by always looking for ways that we, as a brewery and local business, could give back.
In the past year we found a new way to give back that we’re dang excited about: “Give Where You Live Days”. On one day each month, 100% of the proceeds from all beers poured in our tasting room will go to a charitable community partner.
The first Give Where You Live Day of 2018 will be happening on Wednesday, January 17th. All proceeds from the day’s pours will be going to Window Dressers.
A Window Dressers community build held at Allagash in 2017.
Window Dressers is a non-profit collective dedicated to keeping more Mainers warm during the winter (while also helping the environment). How it works: Window Dressers gets a list of people in need of window inserts. These inserts—that keep more warm air in, and more cold air out—are then made by volunteers during community builds. The inserts are then given out free of charge.
If you’re nearby, we encourage you to come out to our tasting room next Wednesday for a deliciously philanthropic day. We’re now pouring twelve different beers from our taps, so you can get a taste of the wide variety of beers we brew while directly supporting our community with every sip.
See you there!
