We are in the midst of unprecedented times. Given the importance of social distancing, we’re trying to make the best decisions for the long-term health of our employees and guests. Here’s what’s happening at the brewery.
- On March 14th we closed our tasting room and tour program for the foreseeable future
- We’ve canceled all physical events, and have changed as many as possible into digital alternatives
- We now offer touchless beer pickup and delivery to the Portland area through Allagash on the Fly (hours below)
- Our field sales team is working from home and all in-person events have been canceled or converted to online events.
- We’re continuing to make beer with limited staff onsite—everyone who can work from home is.
The fortunate news at the moment is that we’re able to continue brewing beer: albeit with more stringent policies than we’ve ever instituted before. All employees that can work from home have been doing so for several weeks. Essential staff in the brewery are observing proper distancing procedures and any shared spaces that can be expanded or sectioned off, have been. We’ve also increased all cleaning regimens across the brewery and have instituted new policies across all of our brewing and packaging procedures.
We’ve been working hard to make sure that we can provide as much stability and safety to our team in a world of increasing uncertainty and anxiety. We are currently committed to keeping our team intact, and making sure that every one of our team members is paid at minimum 75% of their typical hourly wages, even if the amount of hours they are working is less than that. In addition, every employee will maintain their essential benefits at this critical time: health, dental, short and long term disability insurance, generous paid time off, paid parental and bereavement leaves, and more.
Where we can, we have also been giving back. We have donated beer to local distilleries to be made into hospital-grade hand sanitizer. We were able to donate a box of extra n95 masks to a local Children’s hospital, and have been donating a large number of boxes to Full Plates Full Potential to be used for food donations. We will continue to look for ways to help others in our community in whatever form we can.
