For the month of March, join us at Bruno's Restaurant and Tavern to help us celebrate and support Maine farming. With each can of Sixteen Counties purchased, we’ll donate $1 to the Maine Grain Alliance. Since Allagash opened in 1995, we’ve felt strongly about supporting our local community. As part of that pledge, we’ve committed to using one million pounds of Maine-grown and processed grain, per year, by 2021. A good portion of that grain goes into Sixteen Counties, a Belgian-style golden ale that we brew with 100% Maine-grown grain. Our partner, the Maine Grain Alliance, strives to inspire and empower people who are building local grain economies. That includes the farmers and maltsters who already support millions of pounds of locally grown grain on thousands of acres across Maine. We hope to see you at Bruno’s this month!
Join us for a brew (literally). The head of our Pilot Brewing team Patrick Chavanelle, and Quality Specialist Lee Reeve will be hosting a virtual pilot brew day this Friday. Sign up here: Virtual Brew Day During this low-key, informative brew session, Patrick and Lee will talk about our pilot system and answer your questions as they go. They'll be brewing Lee's beer idea: a shochu highball-inspired saison brewed with rice koji and locally grown Japanese buckwheat. Enjoying a beer (or pilot brew) of your own during the session is highly recommended.
So the backstory is that we were supposed to join Russian River this Friday for an event at Cantillon, in Belgium, to release the second version of our Wild Friendship blend. The first Wild Friendship Blend was released in 2014 and it featured spontaneously fermented beer from Cantillon, Russian River, and our brewery. That event was canceled for obvious reasons. So, we decided that instead, we'd get everyone together virtually to chat about, and enjoy some, spontaneously fermented beer. Sign up here: Wild Friendship Blend Event During this happy hour roundtable, Rob, our founder, and Jason, our brewmaster, will be joined by Natalie and Vinnie Cilurzo, co-founders of Russian River Brewing and very special guest Jean van Roy, Brewmaster at Brasserie Cantillon. To join in: you can either click the button above to sign up, or just head to our Facebook page at the above time and date, where we'll be streaming it live.
Allagash Brewing Company and Craft Beer Cellar are excited to team up for Craft Conversations – an event where we bond together over a beer, enjoy each other’s company, and learn a little bit about beer, too. During this online Zoom event, Billy Morrissey (Key Accounts Manager, Allagash Brewing Company) and Mary Mackenzie (Social Media & Marketing, Craft Beer Cellar) will lead a discussion about our craft beer philosophies and memorable experiences with the beer community. Participants will also be guided through a tasting of Allagash beer, with a focus on basic sensory analysis, stories from the brewery behind the beers, and plenty of smiles. Prior to the event, participants may purchase the following mixed 4-pack of singles from participating Craft Beer Cellar stores for the tasting (where Allagash is available): • Allagash White • Allagash Saison • River Trip Belgian Table Beer • Nowaday Blonde Ale This event is FREE and anyone may register to join and be a part of the discussion – beer not required! We’re looking forward to an evening of good conversation.

We have two spontaneously-fermented beers releasing on 6/19: Coolship Resurgam is a blend of one-, two-, and three-year old spontaneously fermented beer, with aromas of apricot, lemon zest, and candied fruit. Notes of tropical fruit and flavors of funk lead to a clean, tart, and dry finish. Coolship Cerise is a spontaneously fermented ale aged on cherries for six months in oak wine barrels. The beer is pale red in color with cherry and spice in the aroma. Cherry, oak and spice punctuate the flavor. A dry finish rounds out this tart and delightfully complex beer. 375mL bottles of each will be available only at the brewery.

The tap handle is augmented by a prize package including various rare pieces of Allagash ephemera. Check out the raffle page for more details. During the 25 Days of Giving event, Allagash has chosen to partner with local nonprofits to give back to a community that has supported them since the beginning. 100% of the proceeds from the raffle will go to In Her Presence, a Portland-based nonprofit whose critical mission is to reach out and support immigrant women with different cultures and backgrounds. It's the long-awaited return of our most hop-forward beer. This Belgian-style IPA is a blend of both Belgian and U.S. brewing methods. This limited-release beer combines the intense aromas of American hop varieties with the delicate esters found in Belgian-style yeast.* *Please keep in mind that all releases are subject to quality control approval before release by the Allagash quality department (meaning, everyone at Allagash). While there's a high chance this beer will release on this date, if it doesn't meet our quality standards at that time, its release may be postponed, or canceled. Thanks for your understanding.

Saison Violette and Little Sal, both blueberry beers, release Friday (7/17) at the brewery. In Saison Violette, subtle blueberry notes balance out this farmhouse-style ale. Our goal is to help you find a taste of Maine wherever you happen to enjoy it. To make Little Sal, we add wild, lowbush blueberries to sour red barrel-aged ale. The resulting beer is dark violet in color with earthy aromas of blueberry and oak. Its flavor is juicy, tart, and unmistakably blueberry: a true taste of our home state.

Pick up live lobsters fresh off the boat, right at the brewery! Lobster preorders will be available Friday, 7/31 to Thursday, 8/6, with pickup on Friday, 8/7.
The return of one of our most beloved summer beers...Two Lights, an ode to two of the more refreshing drinks of summer: cold beer and sparkling wine. While brewing this beer, we add sauvignon blanc must—the freshly pressed juice of the grapes. Then we ferment it with both lager and champagne yeast to create a tart, crisp, and dry profile. The finished beer’s aromas of pear, grape, and light hops pair with a flavor profile that’s a mix of tropical fruit and the snappy spritz of a freshly picked grape. We suggest sipping Two Lights by a water source too large to see across.
Another fan favorite is back. Drinking this tasty sour beer is like biting into a juicy, yet tart, peach. Farm to Face is brewed as a pale ale and then fermented for ten months in stainless tanks with house yeast. After primary fermentation, Pediococcus, Lactobacillus, and a whole lot of peaches are added. Aromas of green apple and graham cracker accompany a lingering peachy finish.
Pick up live lobsters fresh off the boat, right at the brewery! Lobster preorders will be available Friday, 8/28 to Thursday, 9/3, with pickup on Saturday, 9/4 and Sunday, 9/5. Both medium and large lobsters are available.
The combination of a plum and a cherry is called a “Pluerry.” The combination of a plum and a Pluerry inside a mixed-fermented beer is called “Shiro’s Delight.” This ruby beer’s base is fermented with two yeast strains: a saison strain and then our house strain of Brettanomyces. After about eight months of fermentation and aging, Pluerries and plums are added before the beer rests for another four months. The finished beer has a flavor that calls to mind a mixture of tart cherry, plum, and tropical fruit with hints of spice and oak. Join us for the release in the brewery on 8/28!
Our Little Grove beers are low-ABV, brewed with fruit, and slightly tart. Full of balanced flavor and only 100 calories. This series comes in two flavors: Blackcurrant and Peach Kombucha. Purchase Little Grove and we'll throw in an extra gift to keep your cans cold!
Two dark, roasty beers coming your way! Haunted House: Doomed by a love of pitch-black Porters and our Allagash House Beer, we summoned the recipe for Haunted House. Roasted Barley and Blackprinz malt curse this beer with a gravely dark hue. Hopped with Crystal, Chinook, and Saaz hops, this beer ends with a ghost of coffee-flavored bitterness and hauntingly complex malty palate. North Sky: Like a clear night lit by stars, this silky Belgian-inspired stout balances light notes of fruit and sweetness with roasty malt. Inspired by late evenings spent around a crackling campfire, North Sky is brewed to merge lightness and darkness into a super-sippable stout. Both of these beers will be available in 16oz 4-pack cans at the brewery.
We’ve got Curieux barrels galore and you can make one your own. Our Barrel Bonanza will be taking place at the brewery on Saturday, 9/12. One barrel is $75. Buy more than one and each barrel is $50. Best of all, half of the money raised is going to the Talbot School in Portland, Maine. Because kids won’t be able to hug teachers due to social distancing, they’re trying to provide stuffed tigers for every student to hug—and we’re hoping to help them reach that goal. Reserve your barrel(s) online and then come pick them up on 9/12 between 10:00 and 1:00pm. IMPORTANT: Barrels are big and heavy and we won’t be able to help you load them into your vehicle. So bring a friend or two and make a day of it! Barrel dimensions: 100lbs, ~ 35" tall by ~ 25" wide.
Join us for the release of two beers on Thursday, 9/17. Moselle is a crisp, golden lager with a hint of saison aroma. In making Moselle, we brew two different beers, a lager and a saison, and then blend them together. Moselle leads with classic lager flavor while the saison portion adds a tropical note to the beer’s dry profile. Turmeric has a long history of culinary use, so we decided to try it in one of our beers; we call it Turmeric Saison. We're glad we did. The earthy and unique flavor of whole turmeric root, alongside the bit of pepper that we add during brewing, gives a lightly spicy quality to this fruity and aromatic certified organic Saison. Both of these beers will be available in 16oz 4-pack cans.
The brewery will be closed Friday, September 18, for our semi-annual all-staff meeting.
Bijoux is a wild ale aged in oak barrels for eighteen months. We then add a blend of Mission and Golden figs and let the beer rest for another four months. After aging, Bijoux displays an aroma of tart fruit and a flavor that conjures up peaches, figs, apricots, and a hint of pie crust. Available in 375ml bottles. World on a String was inspired by a classic cocktail: the Old Fashioned. We brew an amber ale with orange peel and age it in bourbon barrels. A hint of citrus, a whiff of bourbon, a touch of spice, and you’ve got memories that’ll last until the day after forever. Available in 4-packs of 12oz bottles. *Please note that the date of these releases is subject to change.*
Our favorite Halloween tradition is brewing Ghoulschip with fresh, local pumpkins, molasses, and raw pumpkin seeds. On All Hallows’ Eve itself, we send the beer to rest among the specters in our Coolship, where it collects wild microflora from the chill Maine air. The beer then ferments in a stainless tank on our house yeast before heading into oak barrels, where it sits in waiting for up to three years. Although Ghoulschip isn’t spontaneously fermented, we rely on natural microflora to sour it. The finished product is a blend of one-, two-, and three-year-old beer. In the first sip, caramelized malt and a mild acidity balance Ghoulschip’s subtle earthiness. The finish of this light golden beer is dry and tart. Boo! Ghoulschip will be available in 375mL bottles to go.
Monmouth Red is our take on a traditional Flanders-style Red, which we then age in American apple brandy barrels. The finished beer is deep burgundy in color with aromas of dark fruit and coconut. Notes of cherry, strawberry, and vanilla infuse the palate and give way to a clean, tart finish. We brew this sour red ale with Pilsner, Caramel, and Chocolate malts. We ferment it first with our house yeast in stainless steel then age with Lactobacillus and Pediococcus for 18 months in an oak foudre. We then transfer Monmouth Red to freshly emptied apple brandy barrels where it ages for an additional 12 months before being blended. Monmouth Red will be available in 375mL bottles to go. *Please note that the date of this release is subject to change.*
Black is Beautiful is a deep, rich imperial stout. The original recipe came from Weathered Souls Brewing of San Antonio, TX—their idea was to share it with the brewing world, with one stipulation: all of the proceeds from the beer would go to local charities supporting racial equality and inclusion. On top of a generous grain bill, our version of this beer is brewed with flint corn—grown by New American farmers with the support of Cultivating Community—and is fermented with Belgian-style yeast. Black is Beautiful contains bold notes of chocolate, coffee, and dried fruit, complemented by a lightly sweet flavor. Black is Beautiful will be sold in 4-packs of 12oz cans. All profits from the sales of our version of Black is Beautiful will go to Indigo Arts Alliance and Maine Inside Out.
Take flight with notes of ginger, citrus, and spice. This Belgian-style wheat beer is brewed with coriander, Curaçao orange peel, and Maine-grown ginger. Its flavor is full of tropical esters from our house yeast, while a generous grain bill lifts its ABV a bit higher than your average wheat beer. Available to go in 4-packs of 16oz cans.
Bring a brand-new, kid-sized pair of socks, mittens, or gloves to the brewery and drop them in our donation bin from Thursday, 11/19 until Wednesday, 11/25, and we'll knock 10% off your order at Allagash on the Fly! Didn't bring anything to donate? Never fear! For $3 we'll throw a pair of socks in for you. All donations will go to students at the Gerald E. Talbot School to help them prepare for winter.
The barrels that we selected from across our wild beer cellars united beautifully in this roasty, wild, and balanced blend of dark tart beer. Its flavor is complex and enjoyable, perfect for sharing. Because even when we’re apart, we can still be together in spirit. 9.2% ABV. This beer will be available in 375mL bottles.
Allagash On The Fly will be closed on Monday, November 23 for our Guest Relations retreat. See you on the 24th!

We've worked with local vendors to curate an online marketplace of goods from local, BIPOC and women-owned businesses. The marketplace event kicks off with a virtual launch event on December 3. All attendees will get the first chance to shop from a variety of local artisans before the shop becomes available to the public online. Better yet, we're offering free, carbon neutral shipping on all orders placed during the event. During the event: The artisans themselves will pop in to tell you all about their wares. We'll be tasting through our "Virtual Stomping Grounds Beer Bundle" (available through Allagash on the Fly). Beers include Allagash White, Moselle, North Sky, Curieux, and Together in Spirit. You'll get free, carbon-neutral shipping on all orders made during the event. Here's the FREE signup link.
Thanks to an unlikely harvest of peaches, we created this tart, Brettanomyces-fermented beer. A trove of vibrant aromas include blood orange, peach, and ruby red grapefruit. Its sour flavor stores notes of subtle clove, orange, and the peaches that we age it on for five months. Think of this beer as a toast to pleasant surprises. This beer will be available in 375mL bottles to go.
We'll be featuring six wild beers available in growlers to go, from Friday, 12/18 to Wednesday, 12/23. Five of these beers have never been available in this format. The goods: Interlude Bijoux Farm to Face Coolship Cerise Evora I Believe In Love All six beers will be available on tap throughout the event. Cheers!
The brewery will be closed from 12/24-12/26. Happy holidays!
The brewery will be closed on New Year's Day. Happy 2021!
Brimming with bountiful tartness and raspberry richness, this ode to love is laden with flavor. Heart of Hearts is a ruby-colored, foudre-aged sour beer rested for four months on fresh-plucked raspberries. Here’s to delightful days and euphoric evenings for you and yours. This beer will be released in 375mL bottles.
Turmeric, or “kurkuma,” adds a hint of spice to this tropically crisp, saison-style ale. Brewing with the whole root lends all of the subtle aspects of fresh turmeric—its earthy notes and color—to Kurkuma’s dry and refreshing profile. This beer will be available in four-packs of 16oz cans.
This wheat beer spent time with raspberries that had previously been used to age one of our wild beers. Using the fruit a second time is not only more sustainable, it adds layers of flavors to this wheat beer that we couldn’t get any other way. The result is a tart, berry-filled, multi-layered, and deliciously balanced beer. Our From Maine, With Love series offers first-ever tastes of new Allagash beer. Ideas for these innovative beers can come from any employee at our brewery. This beer will be available in 4-packs of 12oz cans.
Our Wild Beer Round-Up tradition continues in Drive-Up form! On Saturday, February 6th, we’ll be offering an enormous list of deep-stash wild/sour beers through our Drive-Thru at the brewery. Over 70 different vintages will be available.
In clay pots—historically used in winemaking—we aged a combination of spontaneously fermented ale and Pinot Noir grape must, which is the unfermented juice of the grapes. The clay vessels added minerality to the blended ale’s array of lightly tart notes including apricot, vinous grape, red currant, and a hint of blackberry. Spontaneous fermentation adds complexity to the beer’s balanced flavor and helps it achieve its refreshingly dry finish. This beer will be available in 375mL corked and caged bottles.
This blend of spontaneously fermented beer is aged on local raspberries. We begin brewing Coolship Red with Pilsner malt, 40% raw wheat, and aged whole-leaf hops. The unfermented wort is then transferred to a large shallow pan called a coolship, which allows the hot wort to mingle with wild yeast and souring microbiota in the Maine air. After fermenting and aging in French oak wine barrels for over two years, we add raspberries and let it rest for an additional four to five months. The finished beer is bright red in color with an aroma of raspberry and oak. Its raspberry-forward flavor is balanced by notes of light funk, apricot, and a tart, dry finish. This beer will be available to-go in 375mL bottles. It will also be available as part of a discounted Coolship Vintage Bundle, which will feature one bottle of our 2020 vintage and one bottle of our new 2021 vintage.
A truepenny: one both trusty and honest. This Belgian-style Pilsner delivers on its promise of refreshment with a classic grain bill and noble hops. It distinguishes itself with a hint of wild beer, blended for balance. A beer that refreshes while it delights, a Truepenny. Available in 4-packs of 16oz cans.
This beer idea was inspired by a cocktail known as the “Boulevardier.” By brewing with lambrusco grape must, angelica root, and bitter orange peel, this bourbon barrel-aged ale brings together notes of orange zest, caramel, bourbon, and a hint of grape. This beer will be available in 4-packs of 12oz cans.
This sour and balanced beer makes the most of two unexpected ingredients. We blend a sour blonde ale with juice from aronia and elderberries to create a beer with notes of raspberry, cherry, and a hint of dried apricot. This beer will be released in 4-packs of 12oz cans.
Take time today to lean way back in your chair and relax with Nowaday. This refined Belgian-style blonde ale is brewed like a lager. The result is crisp and dry—an even balance of flavor and refreshment. A beer for any day, available for the first time in 12-pack cases of 12oz cans.

Join us for the release of the latest in our brewery-only, small-batch series of beers. Juniper and sea salt blend into the flavor of this crisp, herbal, and lightly tart pale ale that begs to be sipped on a warm summer day. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of beers in our From Maine, With Love series goes to protect Casco Bay. This beer will be available in 4-packs of 16oz cans.
Join us for the release of From Maine, With Love #06, the latest in our series of small-batch, employee-generated, brewery only beers. We took the crisp, bright malt profile of a lager and fermented it with a Belgian yeast strain, resulting in a balanced, refreshing, snappy lager with the subtle notes of fruit for which Belgian-style beers are renowned. Available in 4-packs of 16oz cans.
Join us for a release of three beers, including a beer we've never released until now: Two Lights is an ode to two of the more refreshing drinks of summer: cold beer and sparkling wine. Available in 4-packs of 16oz cans. Coolship Cerise’s tart, dry profile is rounded out by notes of fresh-picked cherry, pie spice, oak, and a hint of apricot. To make this beer, we fill our coolship—a large, shallow pan-like brewing vessel—with unfermented wort that gathers wild yeast as it cools. The beer then ferments and develops its flavor in oak wine barrels for up to two years before we add 100 pounds, per barrel, of locally grown Montmorency and Balaton cherries. We hope you enjoy this balanced, crisp, and...

Join us for the release of this special, brewery-only spontaneously fermented ale. This beer will be available in 375 mL bottles.
Join us for the release of Scenic Way, a crisp and classic farmhouse-style ale with notes of pineapple, grapefruit, and a hint of lime zest. This beer will be available to go in 4-packs of 16oz cans.
Doomed by a love of pitch-black Porters and our Allagash House Beer, we summoned the recipe for Haunted House. Roasted Barley and Blackprinz malt curse this beer with a gravely dark hue. Hopped with Crystal, Chinook, and Saaz hops, this beer ends with a ghost of coffee-flavored bitterness and hauntingly complex malty palate. Join us for this release of Haunted House in 4-packs of 16oz cans. Please note that this release date is dependent upon our quality control process and is subject to change.
Boo! We'll be releasing this beer in 375mL bottles. Please note: As with every beer release, the date is subject to change depending on the outcome of our quality control process.
We've got full-on fall foliage. We're talking orange poofy ones, ruby-red droppers, and so, so many green prickly ones. Grab your camera, zoom it way out, and you've got yourself a framer. And for all you leaf peepers, we have this malty and crisp Belgian-style dubbel ale, bursting with notes of toffee, caramel, and classic Belgian fruitiness, all at 7.0% ABV. This beer will be available to purchase in 4-packs of 12oz cans.

For the re-telling of cherished stories and the creation of new ones. Stories Told is half dark, strong sour ale aged in bourbon barrels, half flemish-style sour brown ale. Stories Told will be available for purchase in 375mL bottles. Please note: As with every beer release, the date is subject to change depending on the outcome of our quality control process.

Join us for the release of the latest in our brewery-only series of pilot beers. Originating on the farms of French Flanders, the Biere de Garde style–translated as "beer for keeeping"–was meant to be brewed in the winter and then "kept" for enjoyment during the warm summer months. This malty golden ale keeps with that tradition, delivering balanced notes of honey and pear. This 7.5% ABV ale will be available in 4-packs of 12oz. cans. Please note that this release date is dependent upon the results of our quality control process and is subject to change.
Join us for the release of this spontaneously fermented beer, aged for two years in Cognac barrels. In these oak barrels, our golden Coolship beer develops notes of caramelized sugar, pear, and plum. All of which pair nicely with the tart and complex notes of apricot, oak, and a hint of funkiness—from the wild yeast—that our Coolship beers are known for. Available to go in 375mL bottles.
Please join us for the release of this special edition of our From Maine, With Love brewery-only series of pilot beers. On the thin line between wine and beer, From Maine, With Love #11 walks. On one side is a wild saison, with fruit-forward notes of orange and pineapple. The other side is muscat grape must—the freshly pressed juice of the grapes—filled with bold green grape notes. After blending, both parts are fermented with saison yeast, merging their flavor into a lightly tart balance. This 9.0% ABV beer will be available in 1.5L bottles. Please note that this release date is dependent upon the results of our quality control process and is subject to change.
