The tour begins in our tasting room, and winds through our brewhouses, fermentation area, kegging and bottling, and then ends in our wild barrel room, where you will enjoy a guided tasting of the day’s 4-beer tasting line-up. Start to finish, it’s usually about an hour.
GRAND CRU TOUR
21 years after Rob Tod first began brewing Allagash White in a corner of a warehouse at 100 Industrial Way and opened his doors to guests, we are excited to introduce the Allagash Grand Cru Tour — the ultimate experience at Allagash Brewing Company.
Over three hours, a small group of guests will get to be a part of our brewery on the inside: taking part in brewing and/or blending a beer, going in-depth with quality control and sensory programs, tasting beers directly from the barrels, and getting up-close and personal with the packaging department. Before it’s done, they will have chatted with brewers, noshed on some of favorite local fare in our private bar, and when possible even had a beer with our founder, Rob Tod.
The best part of this unique, epic adventure is that 100% of the proceeds go to an Allagash charity partner.
Anyone of any age is welcome on our tour. However, this is an alcoholic beverage manufacturing facility, and the tour is in no way geared toward toddlers or small children. It is also a working factory—there are chemicals, wet floors, and sharp things. We ask everyone to exercise caution, but to do especially if you choose to bring your young’uns.
Please note the following:
- Closed-toe shoes are required.
- Furry friends are welcome on our patio when it’s open, but are not allowed in the facility or on the tour, except in the case of working/guide animals.
- If you are more than 5 minutes late, we cannot promise you will get to go on the tour. We give spots to away to folks on the waiting list if we have no-shows at tour time.
- It can take upwards of 20 minutes to get to us from the Old Port. Please allow lots of extra time, especially on Saturdays and in the summer.
