We purchased lowbush blueberries from the Passamaquoddy Wild Blueberry Company, an organization that’s 100% owned and operated by the Passamaquoddy Tribe of eastern Maine. We then macerated, pressed, and fermented those berries in-house, using a yeast strain we isolated from one of our wooden barrels of Coolship, eliciting notes of blueberry pie, cherry, and mulling spices.
100% of the profits from all draft pours of this wine go to local indigenous organizations Wabanaki Public Health and Wellness and Four Directions Development Corporation, our tasting room’s Charitable Partners for the month of October 2023.
