Stout Aged in Rye and Whiskey Barrels
We aged the same stout in two separate oak barrels—one that previously held rye, one that previously held whiskey—and then blended those two barrels back together. The process led to a robust dark beer that includes notes of coffee, chocolate, oak, vanilla, and a hint of spirits.
